Please do not clean, polish or take the pen apart first. Original condition, markings and wear can help identify a pen correctly.
About the buyer
I’ve Worked With Pens for Decades
Long before I started finding old pens at estate sales, I spent years selling fine writing instruments professionally.
I spent 15 years selling Waterman, Parker and other writing-instrument lines to fine jewelry stores, department stores, warehouse clubs such as Costco, and other retailers.
I also sold pens at pen shows and trade shows, working directly with pen collectors, dealers and people in the trade.
One of my most memorable sales was a solid-gold Waterman Le Man fountain pen. The buyer planned to have a diamond installed on the clip.
More recently, I have spent years finding pens at estate sales, repairing them when appropriate and reselling them online. I earned Top Seller status on eBay in 2009 and have sold more than 200 pens on eBay. I previously operated an eBay store, then stepped away for a period to handle family responsibilities.

When I review a pen, I look beyond the overall appearance. Nib markings, clips, cap bands, barrel engravings, filling systems and condition can all affect identification and value.

What Photos Should You Send?
You do not need professional photography. Clear phone pictures are fine. The most useful images show the entire pen plus the small details that identify the maker, model, nib and condition.
- One full photo of the pen with the cap on.
- One photo with the cap removed and the nib visible.
- A close-up of the nib markings.
- Close-ups of the clip, cap band, barrel imprint or model name.
- The original box, papers, converter or accessories if you have them.
- Any cracks, dents, scratches, missing parts or other damage.

Before You Submit
What kinds of pens do you buy?
I review vintage and collectible fountain pens, rollerballs, ballpoints, mechanical pencils, boxed sets and collections. Waterman, Parker, Sheaffer, Montblanc, Pelikan, Cross, Wahl-Eversharp, Esterbrook and Aurora are examples, but the list is not limited to those makers.
I do not know what my pen is. Can I still submit it?
Yes. Clear photos are more important than knowing the exact model. Photograph any names, imprints, hallmarks or numbers you can see.
Should I clean or repair the pen first?
No. Please do not polish, disassemble or attempt repairs before the initial review. That can remove useful evidence or cause damage.
Do you buy broken pens?
Sometimes. A pen can have value for restoration, parts, rarity, precious-metal content or collector interest even if it does not currently write.
Does submitting my information guarantee an offer?
No. The form is a request for review. If I am interested, I will contact you. Any preliminary value or offer based on photos may change after physical inspection.
